Find a job at Walmart HERE!

As you well may know by now, getting hired at a retail store these days is not as easy as it used to be. The only way to win at this game on a consistent basis is to be more prepared than the next person; you have to look at it as competition.

Follow Up On Your Job Application for Walmart

If you want to apply at Walmart and have success one of the first things you should keep in mind is the fact that you shouldn’t wait at home for a call that may never arrive. You may have done everything right; perhaps you had a great resume that you were able to upload online or if you went after an entry-level job, you met all the qualifications. None of this means anything if you sit home and wait by the phone. All you have to do is think back to how much competition you have. Do you really believe that out of those hundred or so people, that none of them have contacted Walmart in person to check up on the status of their application? Of course they have and they will be the ones who get hired.

If you really want to know how to apply at Walmart and take it to the next level all you have to do is look around you and your family and friends. Put the word out; does anybody in your family have some type of connection with anybody who works there, or even anybody who has a friend of a friend who works there?

Connections Make Walmart Employment So Much Easier

This is where networking comes in. If you don’t know anybody and have no connection you could make one of your own. Go to the store where you want to work at, of course, dressed in nice casual clothing. First impressions are everything. Ask to speak to someone in human resources or even the store manager. One sneaky little trick people have used is to visit a Walmart and ask an employee to speak to the manager without telling them why you want to speak to that manager unless they ask you.

Of course, either the manager or the assistant manager will show up and that is when you have your golden opportunity to introduce yourself and make a great first impression. Let the manager know right off the bat you don’t want to take too much of his or her time, tell him or her who you are and why you are there, and let on to how you will be following up in person. Also, ask them for any useful and helpful information they may have for you while you’re submitting your application online for Walmart. Don’t forget to give that person a hearty handshake and thank them for their time. Next, leave them a little business card with your name and phone number and e-mail address. VoilĂ ! You have just made her first real connection at Walmart.
